In my early days in the IT, I was astounded at the amount of equipment a 5 strong team had to maintain and repair.
Between 150 and 200 servers, 300 users and this was on one site in the UK. The company I worked for at that time had sites in Holland, Germany and Italy as well, that team of five eventually ended up supporting the infrastructure in those countries as well.
